Today we are going to talk about Blu-Ray. This new technology is used in the present days in high definition movies and the new Playstation 3 games. The name Blu-ray Disc comes from the blue-violet laser used to read the disc.

A Blu-ray Disc (also known as BR or Blu-ray) is an optical disc storage with up to 25 GB per single layered, and 50 GB per dual layered disc. The disc has the same physical dimensions as standard DVDs and CDs.

Blu-ray discs produce 1080p resolution video images that allow us to view the high definition image but for that we need a full HD resolution LCD or plasma television. Although, a HD Ready television will reduce the image resolution to 720p, but nonetheless, the quality of the image would be far superior compared to a traditional DVD.

The Blu-Ray players support all high definition recordings and all the additional capacity of the Blu-Ray Disc will enable the viewers to enjoy shows for longer hours. Films available on Blu-Ray discs carry additional entertainment contents. The Blu-Ray discs are provided with anti scratch coatings which make them more durable than conventional discs.
Other of the advantages of Blu-Ray discs is a new level of interactivity. Users will be able to connect to the Internet and instantly download subtitles and other interactive movie features. With Blu-ray, you can: record high-definition television (HDTV) without any quality loss, instantly skip to any spot on the disc, record one program while watching another on the disc, create playlists, edit or reorder programs recorded on the disc, automatically search for an empty space on the disc to avoid recording over a program, access the Web to download subtitles and other extra features and more specifically it offers you that ability to enter the menu functions while watching the movie through a special pop-up menu. Moreover you can watch picture-in-picture, which allows having a small window with video commentary while watching the feature film at the same time. If you prefer, you can only hear audio while watching the film (of, say, the director and cast members chatting about a scene) but now you can also see them, too, in the corner of the screen. This can be a real treat for fans of a particular film, actor or director.

Game Review

Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 is a shooting game in the first person, developed by Infinity Ward and distributed by Activision to pc plataforms, PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 and was launched worldwide in November 10th 2009.
The game is about a counter-terrorist team called “Task Force” that has to eliminate Vladimir Makarov and his organization that currently ruling Russia.
During this campaign the gamer assumes, most of the time, the role of sergeant Gary “Roach” Sanderson and has missions placed in the four corners of the world to dismantle Makarov’s organization.
The game ends with the player as Captain Price, in a fearsfull fight with MacTavish in the middle of the desert.
This game possesses a multiplayer interface, allowing us to play in LAN with a friend, various “Special Ops” missions or with internet connection with players around the world.
In my opinion, the game is well concebed, has missions able to test the quality of the players and their ability to overcome obstacles. However, due to his grphic quality, the game is small, and in easy mode, the player can finish the game in 8 hours.
Finally, the game has a good soundtrack that improves the reality of this first person shooter.
